11 May 01THE FUN STARTS HERE
Young people in Poole are invited try out a range of fun activities at two special events, ‘Come and Try It’ and ‘Skate N Jam’, held from 11am-3pm at the Funseeker Skate Park, Baiter Park in Poole on Sunday 20 May.
Organised by the Borough of Poole, Dorset Police and the Bournemouth & Poole Youth Offending Team, the day is open to young people who would like to try out a number of exciting activities and find out more information about the activities they are interested in.
Attractions include dance displays, skate competitions, break dancing, and security marking as well as the opportunity to try out cycle speedway and arts and craft workshops.
Chris White, Poole Youth Services, said: "This will be a fun day with many interesting attractions to try. Some young people are not always aware of the activities available to them in Poole and this day gives them the opportunity to find out what’s on offer and to get involved. Last year over 1,000 young people took part in the event and this year’s promises to be even better!"
Many voluntary organisations will be attending the events to show young people what is on offer in the Poole area. If any voluntary organisations wish to come along and get involved, please contact Mick Nock, tel. 01202 458025.
