4 May 01POOLE PEOPLE ASKED FOR THEIR OPINION ON COUNCIL SERVICES
How satisfied are you with the way Poole Council is running the Borough? This is just one of the questions that will be asked of 1,200 local residents in the Council's three yearly Household Interview Survey.Residents representing a cross section of age and social groups from across Poole will be asked to express their views on how well the Council is performing and the quality of the services it delivers.
Cllr Graham Wilson, Executive Spokesperson for Community Information, said: "The Household Interview Survey is commissioned every three years to give the Borough of Poole an indication of how well the Council is perceived to be doing its job in the eyes of Poole residents. We want to make sure that we provide the type of services that Poole residents really want. This is a major opportunity for us to listen to people's views and act on them."
"The last Survey was carried out in 1998 by MORI and the results of this year's survey will be compared with that one to track changes in local opinion."
Interviews start on 7 May, for a month, when researchers from Bournemouth University begin the first of the door to door interviews. Participants in the survey will also be invited to join the Poole Opinion Panel.
The local police have been informed of both the Household Interview Survey and the Poole Opinion Panel recruitment campaign throughout the town. All 11 researchers will wear an identity card with the Council's Borough of Poole Dolphin logo and the Bournemouth University logo. They will also show a letter about the Poole Opinion Panel from the Borough of Poole. The Council advises residents to check the identification of any stranger calling at their door.
All information collected will be treated in the strictest confidence. The Borough of Poole adheres to the Data Protection Act.
