The number of areas in Poole where restrictions are in force has been reduced from 12 to 6 based on a revised risk assessment. However, in areas where livestock are present or are immediately adjacent to sites or paths closures will remain in place for the time being.

Restrictions previously in force in other parts of the Borough have now been lifted and areas such as Canford Heath, Delph Woods and the Trailway from Creekmoor to Merley are now open. However, the public are asked to follow the general guidelines issued by the Government and to comply with restrictions still in force within the Borough and elsewhere.
Peter Pawlowski, Head of Consumer Protection Services, said: "We would like to thank the public for their co-operation over the last few weeks and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Foot and mouth precautions within the Borough are being reviewed on a regular basis and we would ask the public to continue to follow the guidelines issued and the restrictions still in force, to help prevent the spread of disease to this area".
