Residents Have Their Say on Anti-Social Behaviour

Residents in Alderney are being given the opportunity to question local agencies and the emergency services on measures being done to tackle arson and anti-social behaviour in their area.

The open meeting takes place on Tuesday 19th July at 7pm in Rossmore Library in Herbert Avenue and will be attended by the Borough of Poole, Dorset Police and Dorset Fire & Rescue Service. At the event residents will hear presentations from the different agencies on how they all work in partnership to tackle and prevent arson and anti-social behaviour followed by the opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions and highlight their concerns.

Ian Cooke, Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator, Housing & Community Services, Borough of Poole, said: "This is the first in a series of open meetings where local people can hear what is happening in their community and to actively contribute to preventing and reducing anti-social behaviour. The Poole Safe Together Partnership's Anti-Social Behaviour  Strategy highlights five areas in Poole where we will prioritise our resources, Alderney being one of those areas.  Only with the help and support of the community will we be able to tackle their concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and arson".

A similar open meeting for the residents of Canford Heath will be held on Thursday 28th July in St Paul's Church Hall, Culliford Crescent.
