Getting a Foot on the Property Ladder

Would you like to become a home owner in Poole? If so, why not come along to the Homebuyers Exhibition on Saturday 18 February, 11am - 4pm, at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts.

The event will highlight the Shared Ownership opportunities available for people who either live or work in Poole, including those now ready for purchase or plans and pictures of others that will be ready in the near future.

Among the Shared Ownership properties available are homes at Seldown Eco-Village, Poole Quarter and Bartlett Way on the site of the former Trinidad First School in Alderney. Coming soon are properties at the Harbour Reach development in Shapwick Road, Hamworthy.

The Borough of Poole and local Housing Associations have been developing many exciting affordable housing schemes across Poole and this is your chance to see whether any of the homes might suit you. In order to be considered for the majority of shared ownership vacancies you will need to be able to raise a mortgage for half the value of the property and to be currently living or working in Poole.

Cllr Mike White, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing, Borough of Poole, said: “This is an exciting event which will showcase the affordable housing available in Poole to those wishing to consider buying a home through shared ownership. It will also have exhibitions by financial advisors, mortgage lenders and a local solicitors to give advice and guide visitors through the entire purchase process.”

Just come along on the day - feel free to bring your friends and family, the event is open to all. If you have any queries, please contact the Council’s Housing & Community Services on 633805.
