5 Jan 06New Grandstand for Poole Town Football Club
A partnership between the Borough of Poole, Oakdale South Road School and Poole Town Football Club (PTFC) has seen the successful delivery of a new £78,000 grandstand for the Club’s Tatnam home.
Last season PTFC were promoted to Sydenham Wessex League Division 1. To meet the League’s requirements the Club needed to provide a roofed stand with fixed seating for approximately 150 spectators, including access for the disabled together with additional covered standing accommodation.
The grandstand has been funded from the Borough of Poole Planning Obligation Fund, PTFC, Oakdale South Road School, and Football Stadia Improvement Fund. Substantial sponsorship towards the project has also been provided by Jacobs & Solicitors of 153 High Street, Poole.
Andy Dayus, Recreational Development Team Leader, Leisure Services, Borough of Poole, said: “The partnership has worked hard to deliver the project managed by Property Services in consultation with Leisure Services, Oakdale South Road School and Poole Town Centre Football Club. It is a credit to all those involved that the Grandstand has been delivered on time and within budget.”
Chris Reeves, Vice Chairman of Poole Town Football Club & Partner at Jacobs and Reeves Solicitors, said: “I am absolutely delighted with the finished product. The facility will be of benefit to both the Football Club and the wider community and is of immense significance to the Club as we endeavour to rise back up the pyramid of football. Our thanks go to all those who have made the completion of the project possible.”
