Christmas is a Breeze in Poole.

The countdown has begun to late night Christmas shopping in Poole, with selected retailers throughout the High street and Old Town staying open until 8pm, and the Dolphin Shopping Centre link will open in new window until 9pm every Thursday evening from 16 November until 21 December. The shops are open on Sundays from 19 November and includes Sunday 24 December for those last minute things! Shoppers can enjoy FREE parking in the town centre car parks during the day on Sundays 10.30am to 4.30pm and from 6pm on Thursdays in the lead up to Christmas, starting on Thursday 16 November.

Plans for the festive celebrations, part of Poole Town Centre's special events programme 'Breeze into Poole' sponsored by Tower Park-based motor dealership, Breeze Volkswagen link will open in new window, with media sponsor Wave 105.2 FM link will open in new window, are now well underway.

John Corderoy, managing director of Breeze Volkswagen link will open in new window, says: "We are delighted once again to support the winter events schedule, Breeze in to Poole. We are continually looking for different ways to support the community and this winter campaign complements our summer sponsorship with Poole Tourism link will open in new window."

Santa arrived on Sunday 19 November at 10.30am at Poole Quay in a RNLI link will open in new window lifeboat and paraded up the High Street in the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car to the Dolphin Centre to take up residence in his Grotto. Santa was joined on the parade by Mrs Christmas and her dancing children, marching bands and lots of atmosphere. Santa's arrival in Poole is sponsored by the Dolphin Shopping Centre.

The enchanting Children's Lantern procession will take place on 14 December, join the children in singing Christmas Carols outside the Guildhall starting at 6pm from the Dolphin Shopping Centre link will open in new window. For the first time Poole is holding a mini German market in Falkland Square from 30 November to 31 December, the market will be offering traditional German food, drinks and gifts throughout the festive period, and will work alongside the weekly Farmers and Street Market.

Gaynor Forryan, Poole's Town Centre Manager says, ''This is the biggest and liveliest Christmas campaign to date, and I believe there is something to appeal to everyone this year. I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year ''
