has launched a brand new promo campaign reinforcing its reputation for cool and contemporary. A unique tie-up with lifestyle clothing Animal is claimed to be the first joint venture of its kind between any UK tourist destination and a lifestyle clothing company.
To seal the new partnership, the company has moved its headquarters to Poole and adopted the logo, Surf, Rest + Play, to be used in Poole Tourism promotions. The brand fits neatly with widespread media commentary about Poole's chic and trendy reputation.
Hans Andersen, Grand Prix Speedway star sponsored by Poole Tourism and in Poole for the Speedway World Cup this weekend, unveiled the new Surf, Rest + Play clothing range and promotions.
They include a 40ft semi-permanent picture of Poole that will dominate the skyline at Poole Stadium and a 1963 VW Combi van emblazoned with the Animal logo and Surf, Rest + Play slogan. The VW Combi will be out and about this summer at regular beach and tourism events promoting the Surf, Rest +Play lifestyle.
Councillor Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for the Local Economy, Borough of Poole said: "Poole Tourism has always placed a big emphasis on brand image and I'm certain we've got it exactly right again. Not only have we secured the UK's most successful lifestyle brands with the opening of Animal's headquarters in Poole but their association with Poole Tourism branding is a fantastic endorsement that we have got it right."
