17 Nov 00BLACK BOX RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEME RE-LAUNCHED
Poole’s popular Black Box kerbside recycling collection has been relaunched, with a return to a 2 weekly collection, from Monday 20 November.
The service was disrupted following problems with staff shortages and vehicle breakdowns.
Details of collection days are available at the Civic Centre and Libraries, the Council’s website www.poole.gov.uk or by contacting Consumer Protection Services on tel: (01202) 261700.
Peter Pawlowski, Head of Consumer Protection Services, said: " We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused local people but are pleased to announce the service has now restarted. The temporary decision to move to a four weekly rather than fortnightly collection was necessary because of staffing problems. This has now been resolved by taking on additional staff."
"We would like to thank residents for their continued support of the scheme which has enabled the Borough of Poole to recycle 28% of household waste, the second highest figure in the Country. The Black Box scheme enables householders to recycle cans, plastic bottles, newspapers and magazines conveniently at the kerbside."
New Yellow Pages are currently being delivered and these can be recycled at 3 of our 73 static recycling sites from now until 22nd December. These are:-
Sainsburys, Pitwines,
Sommerfields, Canford Heath
B & Q, Fleetsbridge
