Poole News Focusses on New Generation

The first Poole News of the year opens with a bang, focussing on how the Council is supporting young people in Poole, giving them the best possible start in life.

‘Supporting young people’ is one of the Borough of Poole’s top priorities and it’s clear that their commitment is fast becoming a reality. The opening of the new Rossmore Community Library and Learning Centre in Herbert Avenue fulfils one of the Council’s long-held ambitions to bring the community closer to its schools. The other major project affecting young people is the move towards reorganising the current school structure.

Cllr Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Learning, said: "The reorganisation of our schools system is a huge undertaking, but vital if we are to maintain such high standards of education."

Readers can also find out the latest news on Full Sail Ahead and the Twin Sails Bridge, how the Council’s budget is spent in a community near you, plus six months of spectacular summer events.

You can also ‘Make Britain Proud’ by supporting London’s Olympic bid when the flag comes to Poole in April with a special day of activities.
