TOP HOT DENIM IN POOLE

Denim fashion went all the way to the top at the Borough of Poole in support of Jeans for Genes today.

Hundreds of staff donned their denims and donated £1 to take part in the scheme to raise funds for vital research into genetic disorders which affect children.

Members of Poole's Management Team also joined in the fun dusting down their denim to take part in the day.

Alan Barlow, Policy Director, Borough of Poole, said: "This is such a good cause and everyone really enjoys dressing down for the day to raise money - but I wish I'd kept hold of my flares as they've told me ripped jeans are no longer in fashion!"

One baby in every 30 born in the UK is affected by a genetic disorder or birth defect

Barbara Gaskin, from the Borough's IT services, who co-ordinated the Council's day, said: "It has been really successful. Over the last couple of weeks we have distributed twice as many information packs to those interested in taking part - so we are hoping for a huge donation to the charity!"
