Update on English Nature

Following the earlier advice from English Nature about the potential cumulative effect of new residential development on the Dorset heathlands, joint meetings have taken place and a revised advice note from English Nature is expected on or around 19th September 2006. It is anticipated that this will allow the Council to resume the issuing of consents for new residential development though not within the 400m zones previously identified which will remain protected for the forseeable future.

We are arranging to get the Consultation Zone maps on the website as English Nature have not got the maps on their web site - watch this space.
