OPEN DAY AT POOLE CREMATORIUM

Poole residents are being invited to an Open Day at Poole Crematorium on Sunday 24 September from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Sue Gotobed, Crematorium Officer, said: "A great deal of work has recently been carried out at the crematorium including the installation of three new cremators and some re-landscaping around the building."

Jayne Taylor, Leisure Services Business Support Manager, Borough of Poole, added "There has been a great deal of public interest in this project and we hope that local people will come to the Open Day to see the completed works. They will also be able to talk with our knowledgeable and approachable staff about any aspect of our service."

Poole Crematorium is situated on the outskirts of Poole on the A349 Poole to Wimborne Road and on the edge of Canford Heath. There will be ample parking available and staff will be on hand to direct visitors. If anyone would like further information please contact the crematorium staff on 01202 602582

NOTE TO EDITORS

Poole Crematorium is owned and run by the Borough of Poole and was opened in November 1985.

The grounds surrounding the crematorium have been left as a natural woodland setting to fit in with the local habitat which is predominantly SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) heathland on the edge of Canford Heath.
