24 Aug 00RESIDENTS SURVEY OF COUNCIL SERVICES
Over the next two weeks, 3,000 Poole residents will be invited to take part in a survey on Council services by the Borough of Poole. The self completion survey includes questions on education, social services, waste disposal, public transport, and leisure facilities in Poole.
As part of the commitment to continuous improvement, all Councils in the country are required to conduct a similar customer satisfaction survey with questions that have been co-ordinated by the Government to allow performance to be compared. It follows the introduction of the Best Value Performance Plan, launched in March this year and delivered to all Poole households. It set out information on the Council’s priorities for action this year.
The survey will be delivered to 3,000 randomly selected Poole residents between 26 August - 4 September when all Poole residents will also receive their annual Electoral Registration ‘A’ forms to update the electoral roll.
The results of the Poole survey will be reported to the Council’s Executive in December 2000 and the national analysis of all the local authority results will be announced early next year. The survey will be repeated every three years.
‘This survey is another opportunity for us to listen to local views which will help us to plan our services to meet the needs of our residents,’ said Andrew Flockhart, Policy Director, Borough of Poole.
