On Tuesday 28 November 2006 The Borough of Poole's Pupil Parent and Youth Services held an evening at the Civic Centre, Poole for those Teaching Assistants who had achieved Higher Level Teaching Assistant
(HLTA) status during the previous year. 
This was the second celebration since HLTA status was introduced in 2004. The TAs were supported by their family and work colleagues, including Head Teachers, and the evening was attended by staff from Pupil, Parent and Youth Services who organise training for TAs in Poole.
Vicky Wales, Head of Pupil, Parent and Youth Services, Borough of Poole told those attending the celebration that there are now 44 HLTAs in 26 of the Poole schools.
Cllr Mrs Judy Butt the Mayor of Poole, presented certificates to the 17 Teaching Assistants from Poole schools who had achieved Higher Level Teaching Assistant status.
