All Planning Applications in Poole can now be easily accessed by members of the public following the introduction of two public internet points in the Planning reception area of the Civic Centre.
Peter Watson, Head of Planning Design & Control Services, said: "We want to demonstrate to residents how easy it is to access Planning Applications in Poole on our system. We have over 400 current Planning Applications in the borough and these can viewed easily at home, in the office or public library, saving a trip to the Civic Centre."
Since the system was launched in October 2004 there have been around 2500 visits to this area of the website every month. The screens can be used by members of the public in the planning reception area to save them waiting to be seen by staff.
Cllr Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, said: "The Planning Service Unit should be congratulated on designing a system that is so easy to use and really puts the "Customer First". It enables you to access information that was previously only available by making a trip to the Civic Centre or writing a letter and waiting for a reply whilst the staff found the information in their enormous filing room! Now anyone can access the information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
The Planning Applications link can currently be found on the TOP 10 section of the home page of boroughofpoole.com
