Poole Battle of the Bands 2

A competition has been launched for local bands to enter original music to win a day of professional recording at Knighton Heath Studio, publicity photos and a gig at Poole’s best live music venue – Mr. Kyps.

On February 8^th, the first of three heats in Poole’s second Battle of the Bands will take place at Mr Kyps. Last year’s winners Sunstar went on to spend a day at Knighton Heath Studios recording their first CD and also headline their own gig.  The winners of this year’s event will receive a similar prize and the organisers are currently listening to CDs of original material submitted by young, Poole-based bands, short listing the entries for the three planned heats.

If you are in a band, live in Poole and are aged between 14 and 18 years then you still have time to send in your recordings and information about your group.  The closing date for entries has now been extended to January 30.

Battle of the Bands 2 is supported by SoundStorm; Wave ; Borough of Poole Arts Development Unit; Classic Drums; Mr Kyps; Guitar Mania and Branta Speaker cabinets.
