21 Apr 05Private Sector House Condition Survey 2005
The Borough of Poole has instructed contractors to carry out a private sector house condition survey from the beginning of May. Professional Partnership Services will carry out the survey which is expected to be complete by the end of October. The statutory survey is in line with the Council’s long term strategic objectives in maintaining good housing standards in the private sector. The Council is also obliged by law to assess the condition of private sector housing every five years. Trevor George, Private Sector Manager, Housing & Community Services, Borough of Poole, said: "Householders across the Borough will be chosen at random and will receive an initial Council-headed letter introducing the survey company and what the survey is about. They will also be given direct telephone numbers to ring for any queries. The actual surveyors will carry appropriate picture ID badges and no cold calling will occur. "Please rest assured this is an endorsed survey by the Council, but always remember to request to see ID and if preferred have someone present with you." The Council would appreciate householders’ support in this survey. However if anyone wishes to discuss the matter further they can contact the Private Sector Housing Team in Housing and Community Services on tel 01202 633805.
