12 Feb 07Sign Up To The Fair Deal E-petition
Borough of Poole is launching an electronic petition so residents can sign up to the "Fair Deal for Poole" campaign on the internet.
The e-petition will give people who have not already signed up in support of "Fair Deal" a chance to back the campaign.
Fair Deal is Borough of Poole's campaign to request a fairer funding settlement from the Government. Poole is the fourth worst-funded Unitary Authority in the country and Councillors are calling on residents to play an active role and support the cross-party campaign.
Hundreds of residents have already returned petitions and letters published in the Council's own publication Poole News to the Civic Centre and collection points across the Borough.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Brian Leverett was the first person to sign the e-petition and is calling on all members of the Council to sign the electronic register.

Cllr Leverett said: "We want everyone in Poole to back the Fair Deal campaign and I would like to thank all those residents who have sent us their letters and petitions. The e-petition offers another opportunity for people who have not already signed to show their support and let the Government know that Poole demands a Fair Deal."
Poole Councillors will be at the Dolphin Shopping Centre
on Saturday 17 February to gather public support for "Fair Deal" and to answer people's questions about the campaign.
