Opening of the Packe Family Mausoleum

The Packe Family Mausoleum will be opening its doors to the public for the first time this year, on the morning of Saturday 29 April 2006.

The Mausoleum, built in 1867, is the last remaining evidence that the Packe family owned most of what is now Branksome Park in the mid 19^th Century.

This small, stone, chapel-like building was hidden behind trees and dense vegetation until a few years ago, when in 1993, the Borough of Poole took over the building and restored it to its current condition.

The Packe Mausoleum stands at the top of the road to Branksome Dene Chine car park, just to the rear of number 25 Pinewood Road.
