'PARTNERSHIP IN ACTION' CONFERENCE

Representatives from local community groups have been invited to work with the Borough of Poole Community Safety Partnership to look at new ways to tackle crime and the fear of crime.

A working conference entitled 'Partnership in Action' will bring together delegates from the Police, Health and Fire Services, Voluntary Organisations, Local Authority Services and the wider community, to develop an Action Plan for year 2 of Poole's Crime and Disorder Strategy.

Ann Maguire, Community Safety Officer said: "The whole community has an important part to play in tackling crime and its causes. By working together we can find local solutions to local problems and help keep Poole a safe and secure place to live".

The conference will review achievements from the past years work, consider police data showing current crime trends and provide the opportunity to participate in workshops to examine the priorities for community safety in Poole. It will also allow the views of the wider community to be included in the annual progress report the Home Secretary which is required under the Government's new Crime Reduction Strategy.
