14 Nov 06Rossmore Leisure Centre Open Weekend
The Mayor of Poole, Cllr Mrs. Judy Butt will perform an opening ceremony on Friday 24 November to officially open the new Health and Fitness Suite at Rossmore Leisure Centre; followed by an open weekend for the public on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November.
The open weekend will give customers the opportunity to take a tour of the new fitness suite and find out about special opening membership offers. All new members will be entered into a free prize draw to win a pre-Christmas pamper day for 2 at Chewton Glen Spa resort, or 3 months free membership of Rossmore’s health and fitness club.
Sport and Leisure Management Ltd 
(SLM) operate and manage Rossmore Leisure Centre in partnership with the Borough of Poole and have invested £100,000 in brand new fitness equipment throughout, new flooring, lighting and décor. Additionally the cafeteria is to benefit from refitting and modernising.
Councillor Don Collier, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: “The new facilities provide an excellent place for people to come and exercise in a pleasant and fully equipped environment. This refurbishment project is only the start of improving all three leisure centres, to achieve better attendance and encourage residents of Poole to lead more active lives.”
Val Woods, Contract Sales Manager for SLM Ltd , said: “We are delighted to have completed the refurbishment at Rossmore Leisure Centre. This will provide the local community with high quality facilities and décor and presents a whole new fitness experience for customers to enjoy. Recently introduced flexible, affordable membership payment options will provide our customers with unlimited access to all three leisure centres for a monthly fee to encourage regular use of the facilities.”
The Centre will be re-opening for use by customers on Saturday 25 November.
