26 Aug 98POOLE GCSE RESULTS
POOLE pupils are now busy planning their future education, training or employment after GCSE results were published today (27 August 1998) across the country.
Cllr Annette Brooke, Chair of the Education Committee in Poole said: "Congratulations to pupils in Poole who have received their GCSE results today. All the hard work put in over the years is reflected in their successes. I do hope the potential of all pupils is realised in these results."
Jeff Hart, Head of the Borough of Poole’s School Advice and Support Service, said: "I would like to congratulate all the pupils who have worked hard on their GCSE courses over the past two years.
"The pressure has increased on them to achieve their best and standards continue to rise year on year.
"Teachers and support staff in schools have worked extremely hard to enable each pupil to achieve their best. Several schools have mounted additional support and revision sessions and these efforts are reflected in some of the best results.
"The pupils now need to consider their future plans carefully to consolidate their success today."
