A new night-time home care service is being introduced in October by the Borough of Poole Social Services and Housing Units.
Chair of Social Services Committee Cllr Jane James said: "This service will enable vulnerable Poole residents to continue living independently in their own homes and help prevent them having to enter residential homes or hospitals when it is not necessary.
"The Home Care Assistants will also provide reassurance to people who have recently been discharged from hospital and help for carers who are faced with a crisis."
Operating between 10pm and 6am, the scheme involves trained Care Assistants undertaking visits to vulnerable adults and providing help with toileting, going to bed, and any other personal care tasks required throughout the night.
Regular planned and emergency visits will be available and the Care Assistants will be based at the Borough of Poole Lifeline Centre.
