Roundheads to occupy Scaplen's Court Museum

On Saturday, 7th November 1998, the men of Col. William Sydenham's Regiment of Foote will return to Scaplen's Court Museum in poole in a living history experience. During their stay in the old building, and the local regiment of musketeers, pikemen and swordsmen will recrete the atmosphere of the time of the Civil War in this town.

It is rumoured that the Regiment has to deal with some of the towns people who have broken the law they may face death by firing squad. It is thought also that a local woman suspected of being a witch will be put on trial and dealt with according to the law. One thing that is sure is the Regiment's recruiting Sergeant will be present waiting to sign up new recruits.

It is known that during the Civil War Scaplen's Court Museum, then known as the George Inn, was occupied by the Roundhead forces.

This living history experience will commence at 12.30pm and finish 2.30pm. Admission to the event is FREE.
