Come and Join Trailblazing Cycle Ride

Sustrans link will open in new window, the cycling charity, have organised a week-long south coast trailblazing cycle ride from Newhaven to the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Members of the public are invited to join local Councillors and ride participants when they cycle along the Promenade from Bournemouth link will open in new window to Poole on Tuesday 14 September.

The ride will follow the route of what will be Route 2 of the National Cycle Network and is intended to promote the many local and tourist cycling and walking opportunities that will be provided by the completed route.

Sally Funnell, Cycling and Walking Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "If you would like to take part in the ride along the Prom and support the riders on their 375 mile journey please come along to the Oasis, behind the Pavilion in Bournemouth on 14 September at 10am."

Cllr Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, Borough of Poole, said "This is a great event and we hope cyclists will support the Promenade run but at 10mph please. With 37 miles of cycleway in the Borough we urge residents to cycle whenever possible to relieve car congestion."
