Public Consultation On The Former Oakdale Middle School Site

Local residents are being invited to discuss the future of the former Oakdale Middle School site on Wimborne Road.

Issues under consideration include future use of the site, relocation of the library, leisure provision for young people, traffic and parking difficulties, the lack of open space provision and matters of interest to local residents.

Councillor Andrew Muspratt, Chairman of the Council’s Culture and Leisure Committee stated: "This public meeting is an opportunity to discuss and build on the Community Learning and Development exercise which took place during the summer. Oakdale residents are being asked to influence the future of their area by telling us their priorities for the Oakdale Centre site".

Residents of Oakdale and people with an interest in the area are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held on Wednesday, 16 December 1998 at 7.00pm at the Oakdale Centre site, Wimborne Road, where Councillors and officers from the Borough of Poole will be available to answer questions raised.

Anyone unable to attend who would like to put forward their views should contact Bob Harris, Head of Democratic Services at the Civic Centre, Poole in writing before 15 December 1998.
