Public Consultation On Hamworthy Community Leisure and Sports Facilities Proposals

Local residents are being invited to discuss proposals to build community leisure and sports facilities at Carter Community School in Hamworthy.

The scheme forms the basis of a lottery bid to the School Community Sports Initiative to build a new sports hall, netball court and football pitches for small sided and women's football and the establishment of a fitness areobics studio.

Cllr Andrew Muspratt, Chairman of the Borough of Poole's Culture and Leisure Committee stated: "This public meeting is an opportunity for the people of Hamworthy to find out more about the proposals, give their views on them and establish the level of support there is for the scheme".

David Neudegg, Head of Leisure Services said: "We cannot stress enough the importance residents play in schemes such as these, as without substantial community support any lottery bid is unlikely to be accepted".

Residents of Hamworthy and persons with an interest in the area, together with representatives from local organisations, are welcome to attend the meeting which will be held on Wednesday, 13 January 1999 at 7.00pm at Carter Community School, Blanford Road, Hamworthy, where Councillors and officers from the Borough of Poole will be available to answer any questions.

Anyone unable to attend who would like to put forward their views should contact David Neudegg, Head of Leisure Services in writing at 30/32 Northmead Drive, Creekmoor, Poole, BH17 7RP.
