Food Hygiene Certificate

Kerry Foods has become one of the first centres in the borough to be registered by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health as an approved training centre in Food Hygiene, authorised to deliver a nationally recognised training programme and certificate.

With the support and guidance of the Borough of Poole's Consumer Protection Services, the company aims to ensure staff receive the highest standards of food hygiene training. The first 20 employees from Kerry Foods have completed their training and received their certificates at a special presentation just before Christmas.

Cllr Graham Curtis, Chairman of the Public Protection Committee said; "By making sure staff receive nationally recognised qualifications, companies improve standards for everyone's benefit. Not only do employees get practical skills for their future, consumers get reassurance that products will meet high standards."

Geoff Winnard, Team Manager, Consumer Protection Services stated; "As an Authority we welcome opportunities such as this to work in partnership with local businesses. In this case we were able to assist an extremely worthwhile scheme which will help promote food hygiene in the borough".

Anthony Murray, Personnel and Training Manager, Kerry Foods said: "Our continued success is based on a whole hearted commitment to all our employees designed to build trust, confidence and to bring out the best through on going training and personal development. This is further evidence in support of that philosophy and we would want all our employees to obtain this certificate".
