Essential Road Maintenance in Kingland Road

A temporary road closure to allow esstential road works in Kingland Road between the George Roundabout and Mount Peasant Road will commence at 9.30am on Monday 22 February 1999.

In order for the work to be undertaken safely, the road will be closed in both directions for 3 - 5 days, depending on weather conditions. During this time access to Kingland Road will only be granted to buses and Dolphin Centre service vehicles. Shoppers access to Kingland Road multi-storey car park will continue via the Seldown bridge roundabout as normal.

The works will allow for essential repairs to the substructure and complete resurfacing of Kingland road which is a busy town centre access route with a bus lane. On completion of the work, the bus lane will be re-instated.

Details of the works were agreed following consultation with the Dolphin Centre, Wilts & Dorset Bus Company and Poole Arts Centre. By co-operating in this way it is hoped that these essential works will be kept to a minimum.
