25 Feb 99Possible Water Supply Contaimination - Grenville Court, South Road, Poole
On the evening of Monday 15 February 1999, the Borough of Poole's Housing Maintenance Services were contacted by a resident of Grenville Court, South Road, Poole, who was concerned about the quality of the water supplied to her flat.The Borough of Poole took immediate action, arranging alternative water supplies and warning all residents about the problem. Routine maintenance work to re-line water storage tanks in the high rise flats has just been completed. Following the complaint, tests on water samples from the tanks have been taken in order to determine the cause of the problem. The results are expected tomorrow.
Housing officers have contacted all residents to establish whether any other difficulties have been experienced, and residents have been advised not to drink from their normal water supply until further notice.
Tony Hall, Head of Housing Management Services said: "We have made sure that all residents have an alternative water supply until we are happy with the quality of the water supplied to their flats. We will keeping residents informed. Any further action will be decided once the results of the tests are known. We are treating this as a serious and urgent matter and apologise for the inconvenience caused".
