BUS TRAVEL MADE EASIER

A free new full-colour map showing all bus routes in Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch has been designed to help passengers across the conurbation.

The map produced by the Borough of Poole's Transportation Services in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council, Dorset County Council, Wilts & Dorset and Yellow Buses, includes a variety of useful information.

Complementing bus company timetable guides, the map provides details of all bus routes including journey frequencies, an index of places served and places of interest to visit by bus.

John McVey, Passenger Transport Manager, Borough of Poole said: "Since deregulation in 1986 the bus companies have promoted their own services in isolation. Now all the Councils and main bus companies have worked together to produce an integrated map showing bus routes across the conurbation. With all the information it contains, the map will be particularly useful to any residents or visitors using buses for the first time".

The bus map includes details of the new Wilts & Dorset routes to be introduced from 2 May 1999 and the Yellow Buses summer services. It is available free of charge from all Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch Tourist Information Offices and bus companies' enquiry offices.
