The BPM DJ Training project based at Limelights Youth Centre on Canford Heath has recently expanded to include Music Technology in addition to the DJ skills training it has offered for the last two years.
The project, co-ordinated by the Borough of Poole’s Youth Services, now offers participants in the 13-19 age range the opportunity to create their own dance music using Cubase SX and Reason software on a free ten week course.
Cllr Tony Woodcock, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Learning, Borough of Poole, said: "I am delighted that we have been able to expand this course and its creative musical content. I hope the news will get around and it will encourage more young people to get involved and enroll in the Limelights Youth Centre. This is a great opportunity for anyone thinking about a career in the music industry to get started."
Anyone interested in finding out more or enrolling on a Music Technology or DJ Training course should contact Colin Dutfield at Poole Youth Office, tel 01202 262281.
