FAMILY FUN ON POOLE QUAY

Family fun seekers packed Poole Quay to enjoy a variety of excellent entertainment during the Liverpool Victoria Summer Festival evening on Thursday 16 July.



As one of the biggest family attractions on the South Coast, crowds delighted in the range of events including an impromptu performance by the Friends of Dolphin Barbershop Chorus from a vessel moored alongside the Quay.



Anne Simpson, Event Organiser, Borough of Poole, said: "The Barbershop Chorus were a wonderful surprise and brought a totally different feel to the Quay. Everyone enjoyed them so much, we invited them back for another evening - so make sure you look out for them, they are not to be missed!"



The Summer Festival entertainment begins at 6.00 pm and continues every Thursday evening throughout July and August, ending with a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9.50pm.



New attractions this week include the Dolphin Marching Band, the Wanda Lust Power Boat and the Sony Playstation simulator, where keen computer whizzes can experience game action on a larger scale. Festival favourites, Barney Bey, Clown Juggins and the Quayside Cloggies will be on hand to entertain the crowds, with live music from Just Jazz and performances by the Fourways Day Centre Band at the Fish Shambles.



The 2CR Hot 30 show will broadcast live from Poole Quay with presenter Martin Lee from 7-10 pm who will be asking young hopefuls to take part on the Pure Energy Variety Stage.



Lovable mascots Hen and Chick will be encouraging the crowd to enter the Liverpool Victoria free prize draw, running throughout the summer, at the Liverpool Victoria stand and a chance to win a car. With traditional entertainment including children’s fair rides, hoopla, archery and charity stalls there is something for everyone on Poole Quay this summer.



To allow visitors the chance to walk around events freely and safely, the Quay will be closed to traffic from High Street to Fisherman’s Dock from 4.00 pm until midnight.
