20 Jul 99FREE PARKING FOR SHOPPERS IN BROADSTONE
Free parking is on offer to shoppers in Broadstone thanks to a pilot refund scheme by local Traders and the Borough of Poole.
From Monday 26 July, customers spending £10 or more in participating Broadstone shops can receive a refund of their 2 hour parking charge.
George Hattemore, Chairman of the Broadstone Chamber of Trade said: "We already offer a wide range of popular shops and have been looking for ways to make shopping even easier and more convenient for our customers."
To receive a refund, customers buy a ticket as normal from the pay and display machines and hand over the top half of their parking ticket to any participating shop where they have spent £10 or more. Each of the shops involved in the scheme will display a blue and white parking scheme poster.
Broadstone Councillor Annette Brooke said: "I’m delighted that the Traders have been able to work together with the Council to make this arrangement possible. I’m sure that when shoppers see how excellent the shops are here they will become regular visitors."
