Summer fun continues at the Liverpool Victoria Summer Festival Evenings on Poole Quay with the penultimate evening's line up including more captivating street entertainers, live music and a special emphasis on the environment.Next week's attractions on 19 August include the Royal artillery Mobile Display Team's immensely popular Freefall Tower, Climbing and Abseiling Wall and the Tidy Britain 'Are you doing your bit' high tect campaign trailer.
Thousands of residents and visitors flocked to the Quay last Thursday (12 Aug) to watch, listen and take part in one of the largest family events in the region. Cuddly Liverpool Victoria mascots Hen and Chick are contantly in demand for photos with their fans as they meet everyone along the Quay during the evening. Event sponsors Liverpool Victoria are also running a free prize draw with a Renault Megane car to be won by some lucky entrant.
Liverpool Victoria's Head of Sponsorship Carol Borwick said: "Attracting huge crowds to the Quay every Thursday depends on the event having something for everyone from the widely exciting Royal Artillery Freefal Tower to traditional morris dancers. This week we are proud to be the first venue outside London for the 'Are you doing your bit campaign' mobile unit.
The Summer Festival entertainment begins at 6.00pm and continues every Thursday evening throughout July and August, ending with a sensational fireworks display at approximately 9.50pm. The 2CR-FM Hot 30 show will broadcast live from Poole Quay with presenter Martin Lee from 7-10pm from alongside the Pure Energy Variety Stage where some of Poole's youngest residents demonstrate their talents in a Fit Kids display early in the evening.
To allow everyone the chance to enjoy the event freely and safely, the Quay will be closed to traffic from High Street to Fisherman's Dock from 4.00pm until midnight on 19 August.
