Poole's sensational summer of festival fun will end with a bang on Thursday, 26th August with a show stopping fireworks finale.Spectators are promised a fireworks extravaganza to end this year's Liverpool Victoria Summer Festival Evenings. Leon Hutchinson of Millennium Pyrotechnics Ltd, Salisbury said: "For the final summer festival display, audiences in Poole will experience brand new fireworks, seen for the first time in the UK. We have also added extra fireworks which will give some stunning effects with some reaching over 800 feet in height, much higher than any other displays this summer".
Festival finale highlights include the Parachute Regiment's Mobile Display complete with Parachute Descent Simulator and a climbing and abseiling wall for the more adventurous spectator. Fabulous big band sounds from the Purbeck Big Band on the music stage, Gugge 2000 and the Dolphin Marching Band will serenade the crowds with a unique variety of musical entertainment.
All the regular attractions will be available and event sponsors Liverpool Victoria together with cuddly mascots Hen and Chick will be encouraging everyone to enter their free prize draw for a brand new Renault Megane.
Karen Hogarty, Marketing Manager, Borough of Poole said: "The 1999 Liverpool Victoria Summer Festival Evenings have been incredibly successful, entertaining thousands of people each Thursday evening throughout July and August. The atmosphere on each on the nights has been outstanding with local people and visitors enjoying one on largest free festival evenings on the South Coast".
In addition to providing entertainment for residents and visitors alike, the Festival provides a showcase for local street entertainers and enables local charities to raise their profile in the community.
The Summer Festival events begins at 6.00 pm ending with a sensational fireworks display at approximately 9.50pm. The 2CR FM Hot 30 show will broadcast live from Poole Quay with presenter Martin Lee from 7-10 pm from the Pure Energy Variety Stage.
To allow everyone the chance to enjoy the event freely and safely, the Quay will be closed to traffic from High Street to Fisherman's Dock from 4.00 pm until midnight on 26 August.
