SUCCESS OF POOLE'S ANTI-VANDALISM CAMPAIGN

The Borough of Poole presents its first reward, to a vigilant member of the public, as part of Poole's Anti-Vandalism Campaign on Friday 8 October.

Last year the Borough of Poole had to spend more than £120,000 repairing damage caused by vandalism such as graffiti, damage to garages and communal areas on housing estates and uprooted plants and trees in parks and open spaces around Poole. Poole's Anti-Vandalism Campaign is an initiative, launched by the Borough of Poole and Dorset Crimestoppers, to encourage members of the public to ring with any information which identifies those responsible for this vandalism.

Borough of Poole's Community Safety Officer, Ann Maguire, said : "Poole's Anti-Vandalism Campaign has proven to be very successful and everyone has a role to play. By offering rewards as an incentive, we hope to encourage people to come forward with information and in turn stop the vandalism."

A reward of £250 is available for any information leading to an arrest, caution or final warning.

Members of the public with any information which identifies those responsible for damaging property owned by the Borough of Poole can contact the Community Safety Officer on (01202) 633045. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can ring Crimestoppers on Freephone 0800 555 111.
