NEW AREA CYCLE MAP

A new conurbation cycle way map covering Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch is being launched today. The map aims to help cyclists by providing information on existing cycle ways and proposed routes across the area.

Sally Funnell, Cycling and Walking Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "The idea for the area cycle way map came after discussions with local Councils and members of the Student's Union Environment Committee at Bournemouth University. Students suggested a cycle way map which covered the whole of the conurbation would be of most help to cyclists planning routes and useful for residents and visitors to the area".

The map is a result of successful co-operation between the Boroughs and it is hoped it will help raise awareness of available cycle routes and promote cycling in the area.
