Poole Cabinet 'Ministers' Faced Your Questions

The Borough of Poole’s ’Meet Your Cabinet Minister’ event at the Dolphin Shopping Centre last weekend proved a great success.

On Saturday 14 November, Poole residents had the opportunity to grill the Councillors responsible for decision making at Poole Council. The Cabinet ‘Ministers’ were kept busy meeting residents and answering their questions on a wide range of issues important to them.

Cllr Brian Leverett, Leader of the Borough of Poole, said: "Residents welcomed the opportunity to discuss the issues that affected them directly with the accountable Portfolio Holder. We listened to some very real concerns and were able to deal with problems in an informal way. There was also positive feedback, with the Council being congratulated on the new Route One bus service and the success of the new blue recycling bin scheme.

It is important that we are kept up-to-date and well informed about the concerns and aspirations of Poole residents. Events like this help us as a Council to be more accessible. We met a cross-section of residents who we would not usually see or who make representations to us. We will definitely be looking to hold similar events in the future as part of our ongoing campaign to make the Borough of Poole more and more accountable and to enable us to deliver the services that residents need and expect of us."
