Improved Housing Reception Opens

 

Housing and Community Services will officially open the doors to their new reception on Wednesday 31 August.

 

The Unit provides a wealth of advice and support ranging from how to deal with problems with landlords, assistance in finding accommodation, how to get on the housing register and tips on how to lower fuel bills, keep your home safe or deal with anti-social behaviour. It also manages the Lifeline emergency response service, works with the Poole Safe Together Partnership to reduce crime in the Borough and is responsible for Community Development.

 

The new reception has an Information Suite complete with a computer where customers will be able to access a wide range of information including the Council’s website boroughofpoole.com  A flat screen television and DVD will  display relevant information and advice to customers who can also find out about the partnerships and referral agencies the unit works closely with.

 

Simon Hendey, Head of Housing and Community Services, Borough of Poole, said: “Our reviews of what our customers want from Housing and Community Services repeatedly show that they want more information on our services and the services provided by others. Our new reception is aimed at providing the information and support customers want to enable them to resolve the issues they may have”.

 

Councillor Mike White, Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: “Housing and Community Services should be congratulated on opening their new reception. It shows a commitment to excellent customer care and really puts the customers first.  I look forward to officially opening the reception and meeting some of the customers the Unit deals with.”

 

Councillor White will officially open the new reception at the Civic Centre at 10am. The reception will be open for viewing between 10am and 12 mid-day on Wednesday and then open for business as usual from 8.30am – 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.30am - 4.45pm on Friday.
