The Borough of Poole is to hold an Alternative Fuels and Vehicles Conference at Upton House, Poole on 11 June 2002. The objective of the event is to provide a venue for the business community of Dorset to gain information on the benefits and practical applications for alternative fuel technology, Green Travel Plans and other innovations.

The Energy Savings Trust, Vauxhall Motors, Millbrook Proving Ground Ltd., British Gas Vehicle Fuels, Hendy Lennox Ltd., Adams Morey, Westover Landrover, LDV Van Centre, Ford, The Environment Agency, E2V Ltd., Ecoflow, Gaia Energy, Action Bikes, AEA Technology, LPG Autos are just some of the exhibitors who will be attending.

Teresa Brown, Travel Awareness Officer said: "We held a similar event a couple of years ago and it was a great opportunity for people to find out more about alternative fuels directly from the experts. We hope to encourage even more businesses to take part, it’s not too late to be involved!"

To-date the event has attracted significant interest. Delegates have been invited from the business community, surrounding local authorities and the emergency services. Members of the public are also more than welcome to attend.
