31 May 029th Refuse Round For Poole
The Borough of Poole will be introducing a ninth domestic refuse round to households in Poole from June 2002.
The introduction of this ninth round forms part of the continuing improvement in the Refuse and Cleansing service which builds on the improvements already taking place with the introduction of the new vehicle fleet. Elected members allocated an additional £120,000 specifically for the introduction of this additional round.
Over 84,000 tonnes of domestic waste is disposed of every year from the 62,000 properties in Poole. The ninth round will assist the Refuse and Cleansing Service with the increasing number of residential properties within Poole, whilst improving efficiency and standard of service.
Councillor Bob Williams, Executive Portfolio Holder for Environment & Regeneration, said: "In recognition of the publics demand for a first class refuse and cleansing service, the Borough of Poole has invested in the design and implementation of a ninth refuse round. It is hoped that with this extra service the public will see further improvements with their refuse collection."
Peter Pawlowski, Head of Consumer Protection Services, said: "We endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum, to facilitate this change it has been necessary for nine roads within Poole to change their day for refuse collection. Consumer Protection Services has written to all affected properties directly to inform them of this change."
