30 Apr 02Share Your Experience of Leaving Home
A multi-agency group in Poole is looking for young people aged 16-25 to help produce a video about ‘leaving home’.
The aim of the video is to prevent homelessness by providing information that will help young people to leave home in a planned way, according to their needs and circumstances. The video will be targeted at young people aged 16-18 and will be delivered primarily through schools, the youth service and any youth support schemes.
Sandra Chattaway, Poole Youth Services, said: "It is important that young people are made aware of the issues involved when leaving home and what help is available. We would like to encourage any young people who have personal experiences of leaving home to get involved with the video to help others understand what it is like."
If you have personal experiences that you could share with other young people or are thinking of leaving home and would like to get involved, then come along to the Civic Centre on Tuesday 7 May from 7-9pm where an open meeting will be held.
The video steering group would also like to meet any professional film or video makers who may be able to offer free help and advice to the project. For more information contact Sandra Chattaway on 07977 259063 or Alison Williams 01202 739761.
