National Standards Award For Poole Libraries

Poole Libraries have been awarded accreditation for the high quality of their service supplying information on learning and employment.

Councillor Graham Wilson, Executive spokesperson for Community Information and Support Services, said: "I am delighted that Poole Libraries have achieved this accreditation. It proves that we are all committed to providing a high quality information service to residents and those who visit our libraries, the provision of such a service is an essential fabric of our community."

The Guidance Accreditation Board sets national quality standards and has rigorously examined all aspects of the services Poole provides, from publicity to staff training and premises to the range of information supplied.

Claire Chidley, Head of Cultural Services, said: "We are thrilled to have achieved this accreditation which puts our libraries alongside other organisations which supply information and advice on these subjects. However, this is only the beginning of the process, we will strive to maintain and improve our service against these standards for the benefit of all those who use libraries in Poole. This is a great start for the launch of ‘Know More’, our new enquiry service on learning opportunities and facilities - look out for more information on ‘Know More’ soon and visit your local library, there’s a lot to see and do!"
