12 Mar 02Information Fun-day at Mothercare Poole
Poole parents are being offered the opportunity to come and find out about a whole range of children’s facilities that are available in the local area.
On Sunday 17 March, the Borough of Poole’s Children’s Information Service will be at Mothercare, Falkland Square to give out information and advice on playgroups, childminders, nurseries, toy libraries, parent and toddler groups, ‘out of school’ clubs and much more!
Councillor Mrs Jane James, Executive Spokesperson for Care, said: "It is great that we have such a wide variety of opportunities for our children and parents in Poole and it’s important for us to keep local people up to date with what’s on offer. A fun-day is a great way of doing this and I hope that people will take the opportunity to come along and make the most of it."
Leaflets and advice will be available on the new Working Families Tax Credit and Nursery Education Grants, as well as details on choosing childcare as a career and relevant training opportunities and grants.
Sue Willcocks, Early Years and Childcare Co-ordinator, Borough of Poole, said: ‘The week-end is an ideal time for busy parents to discuss their childcare needs so this is a great opportunity to show them what’s on offer whilst on a shopping trip to Poole! We have lots of information available and hope that our advice point in Mothercare will be popular, we certainly look forward to telling people about the excellent facilities Poole can offer."
If you are unable to attend this event but would like to find out more please contact Poole Children’s Information Service on (01202) 261999 or www.childcarelink.gov.uk/poole.
