Young People from Poole make Links with Pakistan

Young people from Poole met with young visitors from five different regions in Pakistan as part of a national programme 'Connecting Futures' aimed at building a deeper mutual understanding between young people from different cultural backgrounds both in the UK and overseas.

The young visitors were hosted by Poole Youth Services Participation project and visited schools and youth centres around Poole.

Peter Cooper, Poole Youth Services said: "The Connecting Futures programme provides an excellent opportunity for young people to experience different cultures and build bridges with other countries. It also provides us with an opportunity to develop links for future work. The visitors from Pakistan were able to develop a good understanding of life in the UK from meeting the young people in Poole, they had a lot to learn from each other and were able to develop mutual understanding and respect."
