Celebrations in Poole Park for Golden Jubilee

People across Poole are being invited to celebrate in style for the Golden Jubilee at a grand festival in Poole Park on Monday 3 June 2002.

Live Music, entertainment, street parties and an array of attractions will be on offer inviting all ages to come and join in the fun.

Cllr Graham Wilson, Executive spokesperson for Environment and Prosperity, said: "We want to encourage the strong community that we have in Poole to come together and celebrate this occasion in the glorious surroundings of Poole Park. There will be lots to see and do as well as being able to relax and enjoy this special day. This festival is growing larger by the day and lots of people are expressing an interest in being a part of it. With Poole’s festival of running taking place the day before, this special week-end will be a fantastic and unique experience which I am very much looking forward to and one which I hope people across Poole will enjoy."

Jayne Taylor, Leisure Services, Borough of Poole, said: "This is shaping up to be fun filled day for everyone and something which will be unique for Poole on the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. We are working in partnership with lots of people to make sure this event is spectacular and want to encourage local people to come and join in. A music tent will provide a variety of live music acts throughout the day catering for all tastes. Fun & games, bouncy castles, rides, historic fire engines and suchlike will be on offer for the younger age groups as well as interactive Arts activities for all. A special area will be reserved in the Park for street parties - we want to encourage families and friends to bring their picnics and parties down to the park and join in one big celebration!"

The Music & Arts Festival on Monday 3 June follows Poole’s Festival of running which takes place on Sunday 2 June and will ensure that Poole celebrations for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee are top notch, rivalling those that will be taking place across the country.
