Princess Margaret

Following the death of Princess Margaret the Union Jack at the Civic Centre has been lowered and will remain at half mast as Poole’s mark of respect until the time of the funeral.

Cllr Brian Clements, Leader of the Council, said: "On behalf of the people of Poole, I would like to express how saddened we are. Princess Margaret visited Poole on several occasions and was warmly welcomed each time by local people. Our deepest sympathies are with the Royal Family, especially in this Jubilee year.

As a mark of respect, Poole Councillors attending a training session on Saturday morning stood for a minutes silence.
