24 Jan 02Residents Pass The Safety Test
Six lucky Poole residents have won a collection of prizes donated by Beales for being clued up on consumer safety.
Poole residents were asked three questions about consumer safety in the December edition of Consumer Protection Services (CPS) News for their chance to be entered into a prize draw. The questions asked were:
- What is the British Standard for Christmas lights?
- What mark must all toys have on their label or on the packaging?
- What is it very important to do before cooking your frozen turkey?
Peter Pawlowski, Head of Consumer Protection, said: "A competition of this kind helps to remind people how to protect themselves against food poisoning, or from buying potentially unsafe goods. We are pleased that ‘CPS News’ has evoked such a positive response from Poole residents."
CPS News is produced by the Borough of Poole Consumer Protection Services and aims to advise readers of their consumer rights along with information on refuse and recycling and campaigns such as ‘Pride in Poole’ which aims to tackle the problems of litter, dog fouling and graffiti. CPS News is distributed locally and can be obtained from local libraries, post offices and community groups.
